Hey faaam!

I’ve been sitting with a gentle conviction the Lord brought to my heart recently. One that felt less like correction and more like an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to listen again, and to love His Church more intentionally.

What if going to church isn’t the same as being formed by it?

This week on Seek Joy, I’m sharing about a realization the Lord walked me through: I was faithfully showing up to church, receiving the Word… and then moving on with my week without revisiting it. We talk about sermons, community, Christian individualism, and why loving Jesus means learning to love His bride — evenin how we approach the sermon throughout our week.

THIS WEEK’S SACRED SOUL NOTE…

I don’t believe that Christian phrase anymore

The nearness of Christ.

He is never far.

People often say "God wasn't far from me, I was far from Him."

You can't be far from someone who is near.

So if you ask me, we weren't far from Him.

This week’s scripture:

That together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

— ROMANS 15:6

JOURNAL PROMPT:

What might change if I revisited the Word I receive at church with the intention of loving Jesus — and His people — more deeply?

Follow-up Questions:

  • What sermons or Scriptures have I received recently but not revisited?

  • Where have I leaned more into individual faith than corporate faith?

  • How might God be inviting me into greater unity or obedience?

How can I be praying for you?

GET GODLY MERCH

Nearness to Jesus doesn’t always come from doing more sometimes it comes from returning to what He’s already given us. There’s so much fruit when we allow the Word to shape not just our personal lives, but our shared life as the body of Christ.

This conversation stirred something tender in me. A deeper affection for the Church and a renewed desire to walk in step with others. If you’ve ever felt close to God but distant from church, I hope this meets you with grace.

You’re not behind. You’re being invited. Be blessed.

In grace,

Cheyenne
