Hey friends 🙂

This episode came straight out of a real season I’m walking through right now. We always talk about obedience, but deep obedience is submitting to a “no” from God when you want a “yes” — the hard obedience.

Obedience doesn’t make you happy. It makes you holy.

This week on Seek JOY, I talk about what it looks like to say no out of obedience when everything in you wants to say yes. We talk about abiding in Jesus, grieving obedience, and trusting God’s timing even when it doesn’t make sense.

THIS WEEK’S SACRED SOUL NOTE…

the precious blood of Jesus

My mind can’t pivot from the blood. The Lord keeps bringing it to mind. How precious it is. But I keep circling…

Why blood?

I’ve read and studied. I understand atonement. I understand the parables. I understand the need for substitution. I understand the theology.

All of this, I understand.

But I sense there is more that the Lord wants to reveal.

This week’s scripture:

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

— GALATIANS 2:20

JOURNAL PROMPT:

Where is God asking me to trust Him with a no?

Follow-up Questions:

  • What emotions does that no bring up?

  • What am I afraid I’ll lose?

  • What would it look like to choose Jesus anyway?

How can I be praying for you?
