Have you ever sat with God and cried out to Him that you’re just sick of yourself? I have. Lately, my heart has been heavy with frustration:

  • Bitterness toward people

  • Judgmental thoughts

  • Irritation at small things that feel huge

  • Joy slipping through my fingers

I’ve caught myself asking God for help, over and over, and feeling like nothing changes.

I cry. I confess my impure thoughts. I vent my irritation at how I fail—how I keep failing. And then God, in His infinite sweetness, reminds me:

"Cheyenne, I’m not sick of you. Please don’t say that about you. I look at you with such delight. Sure, the sin isn’t desirable, but that’s the sin, not you. You’re desirable. I’m not sick of you."

In this episode, we unpack how God meets us in our self-doubt and frustration—not to shame us, but to heal us. Learn how to shift your focus from your failures to His faithfulness, rest in His delight, and let His joy transform the way you see yourself and others.

THIS WEEK’S SACRED SOUL NOTE…

Distractions.

I stopped smoking weed. I no longer get drunk; off alcohol or lust, for that matter.

Can’t get a fix off of a ‘dang she fine’ compliment in an over-revealing dress.

So distractions are my new dopamine hit.

Puff. Instagram. Puff. Tiktok. Puff. laundry. Puff. Cleaning the grim off of the baseboard that’s been there for 6 months that now “all of a sudden” needs cleaned.

This week’s scripture:

"Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.

— ISAIAH 43:4 (NIV)

JOURNAL PROMPT:

Where are you still struggling to accept God’s delight in you? Write it down.

Follow-up Questions:

  1. Am I trying to fix myself instead of letting Jesus do the work?

  2. Where am I uncomfortable receiving His love—and why?

  3. How can I let God’s delight in me shape the way I relate to others?

SPOTIFY ENCOURAGEMENT:

Listen to and save my Spotify playlist “God is my FATHER” while you journal, reflect, or just sit in His presence.

How can I be praying for you?

Thank you for walking this messy, beautiful journey with me. I’d love to hear how God is meeting you in your frustration—reply and share this with a friend who needs to hear it too.

May we remember that even in our mess, God’s delight in us never wavers. Let’s lean into His healing, His joy, and His faithfulness, and let Him transform our hearts from frustration to freedom.

In joy,
